PHYSIOLOGICAL NEEDS Maslow believed that these needs are the most basic andinstinctive needs in the hierarchy because all needsbecome secondary until these physiological needs aremet. LOVE AND BELONGING As humans we have theneed to love and to beloved by others. ESTEEM Humans have a needto have self-esteemand self-respect Esteem presents thenormal human desireto be accepted andvalued by others. SELF-ACTUALIZATION This level of need pertains to what a persons fullpotential is and realizing that potential. Maslow describes this desire as the desire to becomemore and more what one is, to become everythingthat one is capable of becoming.
