COVER LINE/HEADER FONTS

I like all of these fonts, but I think I particularly like the ‘Route 3’. ‘Orial’ and ‘Beauregard’ seem fairly feminine for a music magazine, but saying that, there are many examples I have found where feminin or decorative fonts have been used within an article, and it doesn’t seem prissy at all. I think I will decide on the font I will use when making my flat – plans.

BODY FONTS

CalibriArial Century Gothic Kartika

All of these fonts are clear and simple, but I think my favourite is ‘calibri’ and I think I will be using this for most of my magazine. For my subheaders/straps I think using this same font but in bold would be efective, as it doesn’t make the appearance too cluttered with too many different fonts on a single page.

THE STYLE OF PHOTOGRAPHY I INTEND TO USE....

I would like to use a mixture of live and photo-shoot photography within my magazine, maybe leaning more toward black and white photography than colour, my audience research showed me that most people would like to see live photos within a music magazine, so I will be incorporating a large amount of these, but other people also said they would like to see photo-shoot images, so I will be using both types of photography within my magazine, but maybe more live than photo-shoot to reflect my audience research.

COLOUR SCHEME I have chosen this colour scheme as I wanted to slightly move away from the conventional ‘rock’ colour scheme of red, white and black. Through my audience research, I found that most people said they wanted a magazine to have a ‘different look’. I have tried to do this but still wanted it to be obvious to the audience what genre my magazine is and what my magazine is all about. By adding brown and yellow to the colour scheme, it slightly moves away from the conventional colour scheme, but still is mostly in keeping with the stereotypical conventions of a ‘rock’ magazine.

Simple double page spread flat plan. From my audience research, I found people liked quite a clear layout for the

main articles, so I have tried to take this into account when designing my double page spread.
