Automatic Transmission Hold Mode (if equipped)

This feature allows the automatic trans-mission to stay in a specific gear range. When the Hold mode is selected in the“D” position, the transmission is held in3rd gear, which locks out overdrive (4thgear) and provides additional torqueand responsiveness at most higherspeeds. This allows for engine brakingduring higher speed descents anddecelerations.Similarly, if the Hold mode is selected inthe “2” position, the transmission willstart in 2nd gear (instead of 1st), helpingto reduce wheelspin when starting outon slippery surfaces.

Cupholders

Two cupholders are located in the centerof the instrument panel. • To open the front cupholder door,

press on its outer edge. There also is a cupholder located in therear of the center console.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

Vehicles with a manual transmissionare equipped with an Up-Shift light thatindicates when to shift to achieve thebest possible fuel economy. When the (Up-Shift) light on theinstrument panel cluster illuminates, shiftto the next higher gear when conditionspermit. It is normal for the light to turn on andoff if the position of the acceleratorpedal is changed quickly. When down-shifting, ignore the light.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.
