Top RAV4 Advantages Over Honda CR-V
march 2012
The crossover segment is getting a lot of interest from shoppers who used to look at SUVs. Honda’s CR-V is usually one of the top players in this game, so it’s not surprising to see a newly refreshed version hit the streets for 2012. Because it’s a Honda, it’s halfway to being pre-sold in many consumers’ minds. Even so, history suggests there’ll be a lot of RAV4 cross-shopping, so be ready for questions.
Fortunately, 2012 RAV4 has the answers. Of course, the Toyota still has feature advantages, but RAV4’s value proposition is hard to argue, especially with the Upgrade Value Package QT, newly repriced for 2012. This Edge has all the details.
2012 RAV4 vs. 2012 Honda CR-V
•Four-way-adjustable second-row seats RAV4’s second-row seating can be optimized for leg room or cargo room. CR-V’s second-row seats don’t have these adjustments.
PRACTiCAl DRiVing ADVAnTAges Compact SUVs spend most of their time on road, but they need to be ready for weekend adventures. RAV4 covers both bases better than Honda CR-V.
•Four-wheel drive with a “lock” feature For people who need four-wheel drive, RAV4 doesn’t skimp. There’s four-wheel traction control plus a 4WD “Lock” feature for super- slippery surfaces.
•longer wheelbase For on-road driving, a longer wheelbase gives RAV4 a nice, planted feel. Honda CR-V has a shorter chassis.
TOyOTA VAlue Toyota has a golden reputation for value, and RAV4 is a great example why. RAV4 does its best to protect its owner’s investment.
•“smartChoice” winner 2012 RAV4 was named a SmartChoice winner in two categories, which is two categories more than 2012 CR-V won.
•Toyota Care A new RAV4 comes with the Toyota Care no-cost scheduled-maintenance plan with roadside assistance. CR-V owners don’t have a comparable plan.

•entune™ RAV4 Limited offers Display Audio with Navigation and Entune, for advanced infotainment capabilities not available on Honda CR-V.

•More cargo capacity With the second-row seat up or folded, RAV4 offers more space for cargo and gear.
