What is BMI?

A cunning plan to demonstrate to the Chinese that Britain is GREAT in the world of Motorsport.

The vision of the The British Motorsport Initiative (BMI) is to build a community for the enjoyment of motorsport culture and the development of world class competition across all ages and technologies in China.

The British Motorsport Initiative is run by a Sino-British consortium with in depth experience in motorsports, excellent Government relations, and well established relationships with the British and Chinese automotive industries.

The management team consists of :Jim James - Founder of British Motorsport Festival. Steven Ye - Executive Director of GoldenPort Enterprises, Motorsports & Culture Group.Hayley Thomas - Project Director.

Shareholders: Golden Port Enterprises (Tencent and the China Equity Group), and Invicta Holdings.

BMF 2015 Highlights

The inaugural British Motorsport Festival launched on 28th November 2015.

Key highlights from the event include:

➢ Attended by Premium British car brands including McLaren, Mini, Morgan, Lotus, Radical.

➢ Aspiring race drivers, spectators and customers were able to get involved in a number of activities including the Mini challenge, McLaren hot laps and Race Driver Certification Courses.

Supported by UKTI, CBI, CBBC, Association of Race Driver Schools, Federation Automobile & Motorcycle Clubs China, Beijing Motorsport Association.

➢ Widely reported in International and Chinese press incl. China Daily, Tencent Auto, Sina Auto and China sports.

Vintage cars have long been a pillar of the British motorsport industry and the British Motorsport Festival will be no different

Working in partnership with Beijing Auto Museum, the BMF Paddock will be home to over 25 beautifully restored vehicles.

The BMF CleanTech | CHARGE! will see students from leading British and Chinese universities go head to head to design and race their own electric vehicles.

Under 15’s compete for the title of Junior Karting Champion in our family friendly Karting competition.

Fully supervised, kids can experience for themselves what it is like to be a race track driver as they speed, zoom and whizz around our miniature track.

Music concert

Throughout the weekend there will be a number of shows and activities to keep the guests and spectators entertained from demonstrations to games through to an offsite concert at ACE café at the end of the first day. Guests can also indulge in some British inspired culinary delights.
