The photos on the following pages show how a wheel and tire assembly can be quickly mounted on the 30” swing SRS 2 machine. The assembly can then be easily configured to perform the dual-axis straightening process. The NewArc™ machine is the only device capable of this patented method, which is now exclusively recognized by the Society of Automotive Engineers. The basic machine is light weight and takes little floor space. It can easily be secured to the floor of any mobile unit, as shown here bolted to a pallet. This wheel to be mounted for straightening has a 25” swing with the tire on. Although tire-on straightening is possible with this machine, it is best to remove tires on wheels having more severe bends. of 19

The first step is to remove the Bronze Bushing and raise the Swing Arm. Friction hinges in the Swing Arm construction will hold it in any position.

Next, lower the wheel and tire assembly over the Mainshaft and align the bolt holes with the slots on the Mainshaft Platen.

5

Install the Centering Cone. Pushing the cone in place, ensures that the wheel is positioned on its center axis in the same manner as when it is on a vehicle.

Once the bolt holes are aligned on the Mainshaft Platen, three Mounting Bolts can be dropped into place. Then attach the washers and nut on the underside of the platen. Leave them only finger tight until the Mainshaft Spanner Nut can be installed and tightened.

9

Tightening the Mounting Bolts on the underside of the platen secures the wheel in place.

10

Tip the assembly out of the machine frame.

11

Tip the assembly out of the machine frame and remove the Lower Module from the bottom of the Mainshaft. It will be reinstalled on the opposite end of the assembly.

12

Turn the wheel assembly around and install the Lower Module back on the Mainshaft.

13

Stand the Mainshaft back up, install the Press Platen, lower the Swing Arm and reinstall the Mainshaft Bronze Bushing. Now the machine is ready for straightening setups.

The lower axis can now be installed with our custom ram extenders. If the bend is only minor, one axis may be all that’s necessary. It is up the operator’s discretion.

15

If a second axis is desired, it can easily be installed at whatever angle the operator chooses.

Page 16: Demo sequencemountingwheel30srs2photos

16

It takes very little hydraulic pressure to keep the rams in place. They can easily be readjusted to the exact position the operator chooses. From there the angles can be varied and the rams can even be adjusted into separate planes.

17

Independent and alternating pressure with the dual-axis method is applied to achieve maximum strain relief. This massaging action is much gentler on the damaged metal. This method is so effective, little or no heat is necessary for minor bends.

18

If heat is needed, the amount that can be applied to the bent area is limited with the tire on but a little more can be used if the tire bead is broken down. This can be done while the assembly is still mounted in place.

Page 19: Demo sequencemountingwheel30srs2photos

19

Once the bead is broken, additional heat can be applied to the damaged area. From there, if it is determined still more heat is still needed, the tire should be removed.
