Honda has expanded its recall for faulty takata airbags

American Honda has announced an expansion of its previous recall of faulty Takata air bags that may be at risk. Another 127,000 bad Takata airbag inflators to its growing recall.

This latest round affects 2003 and 2004 CR-V crossovers. This is the first time that the 2004 CR-V has been included in the airbag recall.

The Honda Models included in the recall are:2003-2007 Honda Accord2001-2005 Honda Civic2002-2004 Honda CR-V (all 2002 and certain 2003 CR-V previously included)2003 Honda Element2002-2003 Honda Odyssey2003 Honda Pilot

Repairs will be conducted free of charge, and Honda notes that "It has sufficient replacement parts supplies to begin recall repairs of the added vehicles immediately, nationwide." This updated recall now includes approximately 3.4 million passenger front airbag inflators.

American Honda also said: "It continues to urge owners of Honda vehicles affected by the Takata airbag inflator recalls to get their vehicles repaired at authorized dealers as soon as possible."
