How Often Should You
Rotate Your Tires??
?
?
Tire rotation is one of the easiest auto maintenance tasks to accomplish, but it is very important to bedone properly.
Why Rotate
Your Tires????
To avoid uneven tire wear
To avoid poor performance
To avoid decreased gas mileage
When To Rotate Car Tires ???
Excessive wear on the outer edges
Feathering
Cupping
Excessive wear on the middle of the tread
Second rib is wearing
Bubbles in the sidewall
If the tires are wearing more on both
outer edges than they are in the
middle, it causes the tires to deform.
Excessive wear on the outer edges:
Feathering is usually felt by running
one’s hand over the tread more
frequently than before which causes
incorrect toe-in of the vehicle & excess
toe-in can damage your tire .
Feathering:
Cupping looks like crimp along
the edge of the tire tread. It
indicates damaged suspension and
ultimately it will damage
the tire.
Cupping:
Wearing tires more in the middle of
the tread than they are on the outer
edges causes the tires to overinflated
and ultimately leads to distortion of
the tire.
Excessive wear on the middle of the tread
This can only happen on steel-
belted radial tires. If the second
rib wears means the wrong
size tires are being used.
Second rib is wearing:
It indicates the tire has rubbed up
against any obstruction which is
dangerous causing the
tire to deflate.
Bubbles in the side wall:
