Elite Chicago Limo has broadened its service scope via an introduction of a mobile application. On demand limo service is a growing area in the Chicago limo spectrum.

Starting with the end of June, 2013, Elite Chicago Limo will be offering its clients on demand limousine service via its mobile app and a conventional browser plugin. Having the ability to book a limousine whenever wherever is now possible with the introduction of the mobile application.

The change was a process five years in the making. The conventional way of booking via the phone or even online is still very much in existence today, but it took years for the smartphones to take off and allow the customer base to get used to utilizing the functionality of geo-targeted mobile applications. As more and more folks are adapting to the new way of “smartphone enabled” life, it makes more sense to offer car services that are tailored to the client’s location as well as time on demand.

In order to offer on demand car service, however, Elite Chicago Limo had to undergo some structural changes. For starters, limousine driver and chauffeur schedules had to be amended. Having the luxury of knowing most if not all the trips beforehand is now going away. Limo service providers now must choose a time allotment for which they will be available for on-demand reservations. And though the trend lies in having the limousines and limo buses all over the Chicago area, not everyone has adopted the mobile application model yet, causing Elite to split its fleet in half. Half of the fleet drivers are on-demand only, while the others are still operating under the old industry standards.

The second change that had to be implemented was adding a technical service department to the list of personnel. Having just a group of dispatchers and reservationists is no longer applicable to the highly tech savvy on-demand limo service venture. And though having an application that provides all of the service information with just a click of a button simplifies most of the administration problems, technology sometimes does fail and not all the corner cases can be accounted for. As such, when a customer is having an issue, a reservationist or a dispatcher may not have the technical aptitude to assist a customer in the time of Chicago limo crisis. The technology department is just built for that, to troubleshoot the app and browser plugin when a limo reservationist can no longer assist the clientele.

Though the transition from brick and mortar type of chauffeur service to fully on-demand Chicago area limousines was difficult, the revenue prospects look incredibly promising. Just the launch of the on-demand service has tripled the website traffic and the number of reservations nearly doubled. And while Elite Chicago Limo ran into some technical issues at first, the growth potential has Elite investing all of its time into the prospects of on-demand Chicago livery service.
