Motorcycle Performance Tips
If your tires are too full, it makes the bike harder to handle. If they are too low on air, it affects handling and fuel efficiency. For most purposes, 34 to 38 psi (Pounds per Square Inch) is ideal. Check tread for heavy or uneven wear, which will also hinder handling.
Tire Inflation & Tread
Throttle Cable
● Adjust your throttle cable’s length for optimal performance.
● If it’s too loose, there will be response delay to your motor.
● If it’s too tight, your motor will respond too quickly and make it more difficult to control.
Lubrication
Frequently lubricate control pivots and cables, replacing any that are worn. Also clean, adjust, and oil your chain. Dirty chains cause poor handling and lower horsepower. Loose chains break easily.
Balance Suspension
To improve handling, make sure the front and rear suspensions are balanced.
Use the Right Oil
○ You will want to use a synthetic oil that is motorcycle-specific to protect from the harsh conditions of racing.
○ Use a high-grade filter as well to keep the engine running cool and clean.
