Chevrolet Niva Concept Project
Master by stereolithography
Recently we worked on the Chevrolet Niva
Concept Project, realizing a pre-series of
25 specimens. They were used for
aesthetical purposes and to carry out
crash tests (successfully passed).
We realized the master using our
Stereolithography New White.
The big size of our machine
(2000x1000x1000 mm) is suitable to
realize big monolithic pieces. We realized
interiors and exteriors (dashboard,
bumpers, other parts).
Vacuum Casting The final surface result of the casted parts
was established before production.
We carefully prepared the silicone mould in
order to obtain a double effect on different
section of casted parts, both polish and
matt.
We finally cared about interiors parts (struts,
for example) finishing with the painting
chosen by our customer and then we
assembled all the different parts (dashboards,
glove box, vents, stereo/GPS box) .
Moncenisio Project
3D Modelling + Stereolithography In September 2013, Skorpion
Engineering participated as partners in
the “Moncenisio Project“.
In particular, a complete study was
carried out leading to the creation of the
sterolitography prototype of the exhaust
for the Porsche coupé "fuoriserie
MONCENISIO" (StudioTorino).
All benefits of this technology were
subsequently used for the construction of
the real exhaust in forged aluminum.

Bentley Zagato
Taillight of Bentley Skorpion Engineering produced the taillight of
the Bentley Zagato gtz.
The various components of the taillight were
made using a mix of technologies (additive
and subtractive) in accordance with the
desired end result of the customer.
In particular the slats were produced through
laser cut plexiglass with functioning LEDs, the
lens was produced by silicon mold, while the
frame was created by stereolithography new
white, subsequently metallized.
The components were assembled in the
Mechatronics Hall of Skorpion’s Headquarters
and were then mounted onto the operational
vehicle.

Pandion Stile Bertone
Pandion Stile Bertone
Front and rear Grilles SLA New White
Monolithic Geneva Motor Show 2010.
The Italian maker Bertone unveiled the
Pandion concept car today at the Geneva
Motor Show.
The concept pays tribute to Alfa Romeo’s
centenary and its name comes from the
animal world, as Pandion Haliaetus is the
scientific name for an Osprey: a sea hawk
that nests and lives in coastal areas.
Pandion is powered by a 4.7 liter, 450 hp 8-
cylinder Alfa Romeo engine.

Coupetorino
Coupetorino
Skorpion Engineering Srl worked as Technical
Partner to the Mercedes Coupé Torino
Project.
To begin with, a 3D scale model was made
through the use of GOM ATOS scanner.
The 3D model of the car was then processed
through GOM software leading to the creation
of the polygon mesh stemming from the
scatter diagram. Mathematics were modeled
by one of our designers on the basis of the
2D model created by students of IAAD, Turin
and under the supervision of
STUDIOTORINO.

Coupetorino
The most difficult task was undoubtedly the
modeling of the rear of the car. Modeling work
was carried out with the utmost care and
attention to every detail of style.
The 3D model was then placed in the
stereolithography machine to be transformed
into a single piece. Subsequently, the model
was manually sanded, then painted.
