The group displayed the compact RE60 here today. The main stress of the group remained on RE60's high fuel efficiency and low emission of carbon dioxide. But it kept the price tag of the car a secret adding a sense of mysteriousness to the launch of the vehicle. "At Bajaj Auto, we believe the people of the planet deserve much better, much faster," said Rajiv Bajaj, managing director of the group.

The car maker believes the three- wheeler motor-rickshaws as its main customers, but they are happy enough if anyone else would like to take it home with them. The narrow four-seater car will do a top speed of 70 kilometres an hour and weighs just 400 kilo grammes, with Bajaj stressing that it had been designed specifically for urban commuters.
