Overweldigend positieve reactie op Green Bond
Brilliant! ABN AMRO debuts with green property bond, 1st euro zone Certified Climate Bond!
ABN AMRO has just closed a EUR500m ($556m) green property bond deal – the first euro zone green bond to be certified
under the Climate Bond Standards and now the largest Certified Climate Bond. Fantastic! Great to see the Dutch jumping
on the certification bandwagon and setting a great example for the EU region!
After a blisteringly successful road show ABN AMRO were so confident of demand for their first green bond that they
decided to upsize the deal from EUR350m to EUR500m. How right they were with orders nearly reaching the EUR 1bn
mark!
The Climate Bond Initiative, 3 June 2015
Green investors drive ABN AMRO debut to €500m size
ABN AMRO this week issued the first FIG senior green bond in
euros, pricing at what, by recent standards, was a slim premium
to its secondary curve despite less than favourable market
conditions.
GlobalCapital, 4 June 2015
ABN weighs in on burgeoning Green market
ABN AMRO sought to boost its sustainability credentials on Tuesday with its
inaugural Green bond, which was also the first bond of this type issued by a
Dutch bank. It was the first Eurozone Green bond to be certified under the
Climate Bonds Standard, which helps investors prioritise “climate-smart” low-
carbon investments
IFR, 6 June 2015
ABN AMRO issues first euro zone certified climate bond
ABN AMRO has issued its first green bond. The EUR500m
(USD556m) deal is the first euro zone green bond to be certified
under the Climate Bonds Standard which allows investors to easily
prioritise ‘climate-smart’ low carbon investments.
The bond is also the largest Certified Climate Bond to date. It was
upsized from EUR 350m due to huge investor demand with orders
close to the EUR1bn mark.
Demand for investments that address climate change has soared in
the past year and fuelled the rapid growth of the green bond market,
which trebled in size in 2014 to reach USD36.8bn.
Institutional Asset Manager, 5 June 2015
ABN AMRO raising the bar
“ Very, very good framework. Kudos to the team.” “This is an example of
how a solid green bond should look like…”
