3 Ways To Increase Your Hotel Room Revenue
1) Check Out Your Competition
If you think about it, your competition can tell you a lot and can help out a lot with your hotel room revenue. There are going to be hundreds of other hotels, guest houses and b and b's etc. all competing in your local area.
Take the time out to look at what they're doing in terms of pricing structures and the services they offer individually. Then compare this with what you're doing and spend some time having a think about what you can do to make your hotel stand out from the rest. What can you offer that your competitors can't?
2) It's All About Rates
Ask yourself this, “what is the number one rule when it comes to revenue?” Your rates should increase as your occupancy does. You need to make sure that you strike a balance between the different rates you offer, including premium, promotional and group rates.
Also, ensure that there are always a small amount of rooms available that can be offered to last minute visitors and business guests at higher prices.
3) Focus On Upselling
Upselling is another great way to increase your hotel room revenue and not only that it can help your hotel business to stand out from the rest of your competition.
Tip 1: Talk to your front of house staff and encourage them to ask guests if they would like to upgrade to larger, more luxurious rooms when they check in.
Tip 2: Consider special offers and promotions to also attract more guests.
Tip 3: You can also offer additional amenities. Things like a breakfast basket or bottle of wine on check in for a small charge can work well.
