Crackdown 3 was first unveiled in 2014, but information on the game has been in short supply since then. The game is slated for 2017 but doesn’t have a firm date.

Rumors of a troubled development have surrounded Crackdown 3, with some reports even suggesting the game could be canceled. The last Crackdown released in 2010, and it wasn’t a big hit, so the franchise’s third installment could have a tough road ahead.

Mass Effect Andromeda releases March 21, but the franchise’s last installment was controversial among fans, and there doesn’t appear to be much hype for the upcoming release. The makeup of console market share could also impact sales.

The Mass Effect franchise sold best on Xbox platforms, but with most console players on Sony’s PlayStation 4 this cycle, the series’ audience might not transfer.

Halo Wars 2 is set for a Feb. 21 release and will be one of Microsoft’s most important first-party releases this year, but the popularity of the Halo franchise appears to be waning.

Halo 5 posted disappointing sales compared to other recent entries in the series, and the upcoming strategy game spinoff could be a casualty of franchise decline.

Sea of Thieves doesn’t have a firm release date yet, but the game from developer Rare is slated for a 2017 debut. Like other first-party Microsoft games due this year, Sea of Thieves has a questionable sales outlook.

The commercial track record of Rare’s games has been underwhelming over the last decade, and Sea of Thieves might not be a great fit for Xbox One’s user base.

Arms is scheduled for a April 27 release and will be one of Nintendo’s first new intellectual properties for its upcoming Switch console.
