DESCRIPTION
I have chosen videos from Muse, Air Traffic, and Rise Against, as their music video appealed a lot to me.

Being a typical alternative rock band, “Muse” invites a lot of depth into their
music, particularly in their lyrics.
“And I'll hide from the world, behind a broken frame…”
Both these lines reoccur in the song, showing the song is specified
around these lyrics.
“She burns like the sun, and I can't look away, and she'll burn
our horizons, make no mistake…”
“Muse” sing about a girl who is manipulative and has a secretive guilty conscience.
“…and I’ll hide from the world” and “..She’ll burn our horizons” makes it seem
like the lead singer is singing about a hypnotic love interest, left broken hearted.
the camera work creates lots of different effects and illusions. The video shows a girl walking from
downstairs, to an upstairs bedroom.
From the print screen, the camera has used a high angle shot, to depict the weakness
of the character.
it is clever how the image shows the girl in the mirror, [her reflection] as lit up,
and the girl outside of the mirror, has very little light on her, showing two different people.
This part of the video, the lead singer is standing in the middle of a deserted corridor, by himself.
He’s singing about being alone, and being scared, which connotates his body language and the particular setting
Throughout the duration of the video, there are quick shots to people playing drums, The song has a backing of continuous drums, which keeps the feel of pressure in the video, and on the main person in
the video
At this point in the video, the lyrics are “no more running away..” there are quick shots showing groups of people running away which adds to the tension of the rushing
people.
In this part of the video, the lead singer is running in the opposite direction to the crowd, which shows
that he’s trying to escape from something.
At the end of the video as the music dies down, the man in the video completely escapes from the crowd, and finds a drum on the floor. I think that this connotates the emotionally involved side of the song,
showing that it is hard to run away from things.
The video starts with a train entering a station, with no music, so it gives a feel of reality and normality.
The video is very much realistic, in the fact that the lead singer, is creating this song, as the video goes on.
in the video, the band members go to a club, and you can see that everyone is in groups, while the lead
singer is by himself, almost all the time. The song is depicting his loneliness.
