Execu4ve Summary Role Accountability is good. Personal Responsibility is great. Accountability is about managing roles. Personal Responsibility is about leading change. When you focus on Accountability > Responsibility you get unhappy people and low performance. When Responsibility > Accountability you get happy people and amazing performance.

Responsibility is Horizontal
Think about it As a leader… Am I driving accountability into the organiza4on in a way that increases fear and thus drives personal responsibility out? Am I clear on the dis4nc4on between being held to account and feeling an internal sense of ownership? How can I prac4ce Responsibility > Accountability?
