o Allied Bank is a commercial bank in Pakistan. Allied Bank, with its registered Offices in Karachi and Lahore, is one of the largest banks within the country with over 900 branches, connected to an online network.

o It was the first Muslim bank established in Pakistan before independence (1942) with the name of Australasia Bank.

o It was named as Allied Bank of Pakistan from Australasia Bank Limited in 1974, and Sarhad Bank Ltd, Lahore Commercial Bank Ltd and Pak Bank Ltd were also merged in it.

HISTORY:

It was particularly upsetting for Khawaja Bashir Bux to hear that:“Muslims could not be successful

bankers”  He decided to step-up to that challenge

and took the lead in establishing this first Muslim bank by the name Australasia Bank Limited in Punjab, which was to become Pakistan in December 1942.

Mobile service is not very fast There is limit of cash in transit on main

branch Much requirements for loan services Less ATM Machines.

SOME PROBLEMS WITH THEIR EMPLOYEES:

Promotion is not done according to rules: Written policies are not properly followed: All written policies and procedures for

appointing employees are not properly followed Political Pressure: pressurize bank they try to write off their loans

Selection Unsuitable candidates are selected who prove to be a great

source of problem for ABL in the future. It cost negative effect on the goodwill of ABL.

Transfer They are simply rotated at the same branch. Some of the

favorites remain in the same seat. Lack of Special Training ABL does not provide the facility of specialized training to its staff.

Training is provided on the basis of centralization.

Allied Bank maintained its strategic focus of increasing the shareholders’ value and maintained healthy profitability despite operating under an increasing tough business environment and managing all these challenges on a proactive basis.
