The Opening Scene

• This scene takes place on Oliver’s property• To describe this scene it wouldn’t be a welcoming

environment, it would be cold and uninviting. • In my mind, it should be by a fence to also

symbolized that Orlando feels trapped. The backdrop would be illustrating the property they own. There would also be metal fence that Orlando would lean up against as he is arguing with his brother.

This fence is very plan and unwelcoming which reinforces the feeling of that first scene.

The Palace

• Due to the difficulty of transitions between scenes, in my opinion the palace would have one general room in which scenes occur, in a courtyard.

• The backdrop could be a palace in the background and the characters speaking on the lawn in front of it.

• To illustrate different parts of the forest I would add or take away flowers that make the scene look a different

• The marriage scene would be filled with gorgeous flowers everywhere giving a magical feeling of the play.

Problems

The main problem to overcome would be the transition between scenes. The sets have to be easily transportable and have enough time to make the scene look good. Another problem may arise when the forest scene continues, it may become a boring scenery after awhile for the audience.
