Research Objective

• This research is meant to:• Help decide what form of material is best used

for the Bag’s design and its material’s capabilities.

• Find an unique method to adapt to the bag to fit our persona.

• Research will be on-going through out the whole development process.

Bag Types

• Fashion Handbags• Usually made of leather or other natural

materials. • Now use synthetic polymers such

as polypropylene to replace natural materials – Flexible material with different uses.

• Interesting, semi-rigid shapes can be moulded from the class of polymers known as elastomers, polychloroprene in current times.

Bag Types

• School Book Bags• A school book bag must support more weight

than a hand bag and provide adequate wear resistance to survive the school environment for at least a couple of years.

• The most common materials : canvas (Cotton based) nylon and polyvinylchloride (PVC).

Bag Types

• Mountaineering Backpack• Mountaineering gear must be capable to handle

different situation which are of extreme environment and sustainable and long lasting.

• "Goretex" is a PTFE-based laminated fabric used for wet-weather gear because the 'holes' between the fibres are too small to allow water in, but coarse enough to allow water vapour out.

but for school use. • Needs to be water and tear resistant to an extent.

Baldric

• A baldric is a belt worn over one shoulder that is typically used to carry a weapon.

• The baldric is quite similar to modern day bag belts found on messenger bags and satchels.

• It is meant for providing fast drawing of swords in battle.
