BDPA St. Louis

BDPA seeks to advance the careers of African Americans in the IT industry from the

classroom to the boardroom. We hope to create a relationship with MasterCard.

About BDPA Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) is a non-

profit organization of professionals working in or having an interest in the Information Technological fields. BDPA is a diverse representation of information technology professionals.

Membership consist of programmers, analysts, engineers, managers, chief executive officers, vice presidents, instructors and entrepreneurs, to name a few.

The Community Outreach Award is presented to a company/organization that through IT has made an outstanding contribution to the people of the St. Louis region.Award CriteriaThe Community Outreach Award winner will have provided the most among all nominees to the St. Louis region through volunteer efforts from January through December 2011. Examples of such efforts include helping local learning institutions, rehabilitation centers, shelters, etc., through efforts that might include but are not limited to:Providing solutions that enabled the organization to lower their operational costsVolunteering employee time to teach IT skillsProviding IT hardware/software at reduced prices or no chargeUsing IT to enable delivery of and increasing the service capacity to the targeted constituents of the not-for-profit servicesMentoring others in their IT developmentOffering opportunities to IT students
