The industry has suffered for a long time from companies providing reports

which are inconclusive, written in technical jargon and without a clear

and concise summary. Most reports appear to be prepared

by geologists or environmentalistswith little evident knowledge of practical

and economic solutions for sub-structure problems.

Marc Fawcett BSc. (Hons), FGS, MIAEG, Director of Betts Geo Environmental.

By contrast, our reports are prepared by qualified Geo Environmentalists in conjunction with senior civiland structural engineering staff. Our commitment to clients is to provide conclusive reports that are jargon-free and offer value-engineered practicalsolutions, along with advice on all sub-structure matters.

With quality, integrity and sustainability being keyfactors in our day-to-day approach to work, as well as ISO 18001, we have also achieved ISO 9001 qualityassurance, ISO 14001 environmental management and are registered with Constructionline.

Flooding can come from rivers and the sea, directly fromrainfall on the ground surface, from rising ground waterand overwhelmed sewers and drainage systems (PPS25).

We prepare Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) forproposed and existing developments from a variety ofdiffering land uses. We can identify risks associated with the following forms of flooding:

Rivers and sea.Overland.Groundwater.Sewers.Reservoirs, canals and other artificial sources.

We utilise the latest modelling software and the FloodEstimation Handbook (FEH) to produce FRAs where theflood risk to a proposed development is in the form of a main river or other watercourse deemed an asset by the Environment Agency.
