Brazil is currently one of the centers of attention for investors from all over the world.

This is an assertion that all those involved in the energy and infrastructure sectors

have heard in recent years. This assertion is certainly proving true as we witness the

major discoveries in the oil area, the country as host of major sporting events like the

World Cup and the Olympics, the growth of investments in renewable energy, among

others.

Whether with domestic or foreign capital, the country is experiencing a moment of

great activity in structuring investments in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Of course it’s not all smooth sailing, and Brazil is still facing huge challenges in

continuing to attract investors and diminishing obstacles in order to accomplish the

planned undertakings.

This event proposes a reflection on the scenario for the investor in these undertakings

for the next few years and presents discussions on financing alternatives for Brazilian

energy and infrastructure projects.

The setting will be the beginning of the new Government’s 2011-2014 cycle, the latest

advances in renewable energy projects and the race to meet the schedule of projects

and infrastructure needed to host the major sporting events of 2014 and 2016.

What are the financing options? What are the economic scenarios projected for

coming years? What will remain, what will change and what will be created in the

sector regulatory frameworks? What does it take to invest in Brazil?

Public-private partnerships (PPPs), market outlook, regulatory issues, project

financeability, insurance options, investment fund participation, financial bonds,

credit options, sustainable projects and access to financing and inherent operational

risks are some of the topics analyzed, discussed and launched into the debate.
