This is a teamwork. Work in pairs and follow the instructions you will find as you read this Webquest. All the suggested exercises are aimed at improving your
skills on writing business letters.
On the task and process sections you will find all the instructions for your essay. On the resources section
you have got all the suggested websites. On the evaluation section you will see how your work will be
marked. Read them carefully and be sure you understand everything.

You work for a multinational company that produces leather accessories. Your production department has just launched a new range of leather handbags. You work for the sales department and you are responsible of offering the new articles to your customers. Write down a sales letter including the following information:
Letterhead: Hip Hop Recording, 97 Kings Road, London, Tel: 0171-988899.Special offer: 12.50% price reduction.Terms and conditions: book end of month.Opening times for the exhibition room and contacts: 8.30-5.30, Mike or Sasha.Other information: new articles available next month.
Apart from the above points, you can also include some other information you may think of interest for your client, such as some comments on your last fair or your last delivery for them.
Before writing the letter, you should do several exercises which are suggested during the webquest. They will help you writing a good business letter. Remember all we have talked in class. It will be useful in your final exercise.
Your letter must include about 150 words. Use the sentences and expressions we have studied during the lesson and look up whatever you need to do a good job.

To get ready to write a good sales letter, do these exercises first:
1. Be familiar with some samples of business letters. The more you read, the better you will write them. Try to find an example for the suggested topics.
2. Do some exercises about business correspondence. 3. Learn some useful sentences for business letters according to
their purpose and the part of the letter they are in. 4. Watch a short video talking about some common mistakes in
business letters. Explain them.
And last but not least: write the sales letter to your customer. Check the instructions on the task section.
You have done a great deal of work. Keep up the good work now!
