BOARD MEETINGS AND ACTIVITIES
• Lee Pfluger, as a member of the Design Committee continued negotiations for pocket park at the Southeast corner of Twohig and Oakes.
• Members of the Economic Restructuring Committee and DSA Executive Director toured the Trimble-Batjer building with building contractor.
• Continued the Wooly Bully Festival Series including the May 31st Miss Wool Parade in celebration of National Preservation month and San Angelo’s agricultural history.
• Stephens Central Library is a new addition to DSA’s Art Walk every 3rd Thursday.
• Bob Stribling and an intern completed the initial Parking survey.
• Economic Restructuring Sub-committee continues to research long term parking issues.
• Researching the potential for Retail Incubator for entrepreneurial efforts and “Pop-up” or Seasonal Shops.
• Met with City Staff and Bo Briley (Republic) to discuss trash removal from the Downtown area.
• Met with a representative of Backdoor Productions regarding a one-day music festival in the Downtown area.
• Worked with Downtown merchants, the CVB, and local hotels to promote the “Sheep Thrills” Program.
• Executive Director assisted at the CVB booth during the June Coaches Clinic.
• DSA staff hosted CW Fields, Developer, in June. Joe O’Connor provided a tour of the Trimble-Batjer building.
• Executive Director attends meetings with BRC, BREP, Economic Development Council, CVB, Development Review Committee, Concho Valley Transit, City Council, COSADC.
• DSA Executive Director regularly attends meetings of the Economic Development partners.
• Activities of the Executive Director include– Graduation; Leadership San Angelo– Presentation and assistance during the THC
Workshop at Stephens Central Library in June.
• Staff continues to assist 4 business development prospects.
• Growing crowds can enjoy the Downtown Movies through September.
