Coaching for Presbyterian Pastors “Tom’s coaching has had a significant impact on my work. His insightful questions, keen analysis, breadth of experience, sense of humor and compassionate push-back have helped me navigate adaptive changes, find creative solutions, keep focused and move intentionally toward greater effectiveness in both ministry and life. Tom’s a gifted coach, and this has been the best ‘continuing education’ investment I’ve ever made!” Presbytery Executive “If there is a spiritual gift of coaching, Tom Patterson has it...big time!” Pastor and Writer “Tom understands leaders and their systems. He helps teams increase the clarity and grace of their communications, and he helps leaders grow in their calm, balanced authority.” Professional Certified Coach & Trainer The pastorate is a genuinely unique vocation... In the best of times, it can be tremendously challenging and fulfilling work – if it’s your calling. And in the worst of times, it can feel like a frustrating and lonely experience – even if it’s still your calling. The pastorate is a genuinely unique vocation...

In the best of times, it can be tremendously challenging and fulfilling work – if it’s your calling. And in the worst of times, it can feel like a frustrating and lonely experience – even if it’s still your calling.

The good news is that the vast majority of the struggles pastors face are shared in common with other pastors. At the same time, your story—your experience—is yours, and yours alone.

Anxiety and fatigue lead to tunnel vision. We become less able to be “self-reflective,” and we become more “reactive.” When times get intense for pastors, many find themselves tending toward one - or a combination - of these options:

1. Trying harder2. Seeking refuge in cynicism3. Leaving pastoral ministry altogether

But what if those aren’t your only choices? What if there were a

different way to be? I invite you to call me for more details!
