HISTORY

Founded in 1938 In 1938 the Samsung's founder Byung - Chull Lee set

up a trade export company in Korea, selling fish, vegetables, and fruit to China.

Within a decade Samsung had flour mills and confectionary machines and became a co-operation in 1951.

1950’s Economic Stabilization Korean War - Samsung lost all assets aimed to help rebuild Korean economy; entered the

manufacturing industry (sugar, fabrics) 1960’s Expansion of Key Industries

entered electronics and chemical industries 1969 established Samsung Electronics Co.

Samsung started to rise as an international corporation in the 1990s.

, Samsung manufactured a range of aircraft from the 1980s to 1990s.

Samsung became the largest producer of memory chips in the world in 1992, and is the world's second-largest chipmaker after Intel In 1995, it built its first liquid-crystal display screen.

Ten years later, Samsung grew to be the world's largest manufacturer of liquid-crystal display panels.

Samsung Electronics overtook Sony as one of the world's most popular consumer electronics brands in 2004 and 2005, and is now ranked #19 in the world overall.
