What is Flamebar BW11
BW11 an ablative coating. Specially formulated water-based compound which contains mineral fibers in a low permeability elastomeric binder.
Ductwork fabricated to enhanced SMACNA standards per Firespray requirements
Duct spray coated with BW11 in our UL and ETL inspected facility
Installation by HVAC contractors supported by the factory issued installation
guidelines
If required, factory inspected and issued a “Certificate of Conformity”

Rated for Type A and Type B Duct
THE DUCT IS THE ENCLOSURE
Type A or B Duct BW11 tested for both Type A and B Duct. Wraps tested for Type A duct (fire
outside). If there is a fire upstream in an adjacent
compartment and the fire enters the Type A rated duct, failure will occur.
BW11 is the only fire rated solution for a fire inside and outside the duct.

Ductwork Design Standard
Both BW11 and Wrap solutions require the ductwork to be engineered to a standard greater than SMACNA.
UL and ETL test reports specify the upgraded components of the duct construction.
BW11 documentation included in published design standards.
Supports and Hangers
In a fire condition normal steel looses 95% of its tensile strength.
Hangers sized to standard SMACNA structural standards will fail before the 1-2 hr design time.
All BW11 or Wrap solutions must: Upsize all hangers from SMACNA standards Increase size of support bearing members Reduce spacing of hangers to between 5-6’
