BT operates the following schemes Depending on the scheme, apprentices are either trained at a partnered college

or University, in house BT academies or in some cases via training providers. Higher apprentices obtain a foundation degree and are able to top this up to a

full degree.

Top Tips

Get support from the top of your organisation

Ensure you can support and develop your apprentices, remembering that younger apprentices have different needs

Challenge your apprentices to do more and perform higher

Give an experience, not just training

If you use an external supplier, ensure the training is relevant to the job your apprentices are undertaking

Celebrate success and make a big deal of graduation

Options ?

• Direct Grant Employer. You can do it all.

• Partner with a provider/college/university. You can employ the apprentice and ask the provider to deliver the framework for you.

• Go to a college/provider and ask if they have young apprentices attending who would be suitable for recruitment now or at completion.
