WHO ARE WE?
Deep Griha is an independent charitable organisation
working to better the lives of people living in the slums
of Pune.
Founded in 1975 by Dr. Neela Onawale & Rev.
Bhaskar Onawale
Initial focus on women and children of Ramtekadi
slum, Pune
Today Deep Griha Society works in three urban slum
communities - Tadiwala Road, Ramtekadi, Bibvewadi
and two rural projects at Kasurdi and Chaufula

BENEFICIARIES A YEAR
Through a range of family welfare programmes encompassing
childcare, child development, youth empowerment, women’s
empowerment, medical and healthcare, HIV/AIDS, and rural
development, DGS helps beneficiaries in Pune and several
nearby villages.

Vishal Avloki came to DGS when he was 4 months old. Over the
years, he benefited from Deep Griha’s childcare programme
(crèches and balwadis) and Aadhar Kendra Child Sponsorship
Programme.
Today, he works at Industries as Zonal Commercial Coordinator
Western Region. This year he will be appearing for his second
year of MBA. He is now married and has a son.
