Being an ITC Employee

• The primary concern of each employee must be to provide the highest quality of service to each of our consumers.– Each consumer is entitled to respect and understanding.

• We recognize that for most employees the following is not an issue. However, you must adhere to these rules: – ITC is your employer, not having staff presence daily does not

dismiss you from standards kept at other jobs.– As an employee you are required to return phone calls and/or

emails in a timely manner .– While providing services for your consumers; the use of

mobile phones, personal digital assistants (PDA), or ANY other electronic devices, for personal use, is strictly prohibited. To ensure the effectiveness of services provided to our consumers, employees are asked to keep these devices at home or turned off.

Mandatory Annual Training

• Each agency will offer continuing education.

• In agencies providing services for state-funded programs, caregivers must complete 6 hours of continuing education per year.

• ITC will provide 4 mandatory trainings throughout the year.– This will help you achieve most of

the 6 hours required.• CPR, First Aid, Article -9, and other

trainings outside of ITC will be accepted as part of your 6 hours.

• ITC will ensure that you will get opportunities to meet the state requirement of 6 hours.

ITC ID Badges

• Employee badges signify friendliness to consumers as you help introduce yourself and assisting them with their needs. Without saying a word, your identification card tells them who you are and the agency you work for.

• Employee badges keep you safe while providing service out in the community. With the badge you can identify yourself as a caregiver for ITC and state that you are providing service for you consumer.

• Employee badges are mandatory and must be worn at all times while providing services.

• If your badge becomes lost or destroyed please contact ITC immediately to discuss a replacement badge.

GAPS / NPS

• All scheduled services with DDD consumers must be provided.– Shifts are discussed between consumer family and the caregiver.

• This is a state requirement. • If you absolutely cannot provide services as

scheduled you must contact your ITC manager and notify them as soon as possible. – for example if you are ill or if your car breaks down.

• ITC will then contact your consumer or their guardian and offer to send a backup provider until you can again provide services as scheduled.
