ELEVATORS, ESCALATORS, MOVING WALKS, PLATFORM LIFTS
The design of a building inevitably involves providing suitable provision for the movement of people and goods. One of the keys to the ultimate success of a project will be the application of the vertical transportation systems. Dunbar & Boardman is the market leader in this field providing support and advice to many individual and blue chip clients for over a thirty year period; services offered for new equipment include:
DETAILED DESIGN: Developing the right system with the right number, size, speed and types of lifts to meet the users, residents, guests, staff and building management’s expectations will involve the use of the latest and most unique systems developed by the lift industry. From conception to completion for Design & Build, Property Management and conventional Architectural-lead schemes, the principal objective is the identification of the client’s prime requirements and to incorporate these by proper application of the technical, commercial, contractual and statutory factors.
CONTRACT REVIEW Approved contractors are invited to submit firm proposals on the basis of competitive tendering against specification for both contractual and technical requirements. Offers are analysed and recommendations made. Contract negotiation meetings are organised and all details are documented with the minutes of each meeting circulated as requested by the client.
TECHNICAL REVIEW Competing company’s are required to provide, on a standard format prepared and issued by Dunbar & Boardman as part of the tender enquiry, comprehensive technical and performance data relating to the product being offered. This information is used during the tender evaluation to confirm compliance with specification requirements.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Procedures are established that define key dates and monitor
performance accordingly. During the contract period, there will be
regular meetings, as agreed and subject to the site requirements, the
purpose is to review progress and confirm satisfactory performance on
all aspects of the project. All meetings are formalised with minutes
taken ensuring decisions and instructions are formally recorded and
circulated. Inspections are made at the point of manufacture when the
producer or supplier is required to demonstrate that the product under
inspection is in conformity with the specification and will be available for
delivery as required by the programme of works.
COMMISSIONING
The satisfactory completion of any installation is demonstrated by the
examinations and tests specified in BSS and performed by the installer
at the commissioning of the work. The test is verified by conducting a
detailed examination of the installed equipment and confirmation of the
BSS Tests for and on behalf of the client.

procedures to limit the impact of a modernisation programme on the
