Go and connect to the OSX1 server Choose Shared and follow to folder

Employees Find and open the Easy Grade Pro folder Drag the pre-set EGP grade book 2008-

2009 to your laptop

Classes are marked A – F in both Fall and Spring semesters

Each class has a calendar set up (in case you wish to take attendance in EGP, although some block’s calendars are inaccurate due to the winter schedule change)

Default grade scale is updated to NHS standards

Classes are color-coded

Follow the guide and select “Type Students Names”

Feel free to use the “Custom data” I pre-set or choose your own.

Choose “Class Options” icon from the tool bar and open the “Category” tab

Now you can activate “Category Weighting”, edit “Category Name” and “Weight”

For each category you can choose a Grade Scale – for details check the “Grade” tab. (The default is identical with NHS grade scale in % and you will also have an option to set a special grade scale later).

Click the “ADD ASSIGNMENT” and type in the Name {…Quiz 1.3…}

Choose Category (pull down menu will show all categories you pre-defined in step II.)

Set due date on the calendar.

“Maximum Score” allows you the freedom of grading assignments (for example) by number of correct answers and calculates the percent grade for you.Example:When the perfect score on a homework assignment would be 37, I can specify this in the “Max. Score” space and than just input the raw scores {25, 36, 29 etc.} for each student.

Weight of each assignment within a given category can be specified by using “Points”Example:When each lesson quiz should have double the value of each vocab. quiz and half the value of each chapter test, but all fall into the category “Test & Quiz”, you can assign50 points to vocabulary quizzes100 points to regular quizzes 200 points to chapter tests

Defining the value and significance of special scores1. To view and/or define special scores, click “Class Options” icon

1. Open the “Score” tab and decide if you need to define special scores different from the menu.

Please note that with the setting above students do not receive a 0% on an assignment which is incomplete or for which they were absent, but both these cases will be marked on their progress reports. Feel free to change that by simple editing.

To filter what you can see on your screen:check out all the arrow icons

To name/re-name your class:1. Click the “Records” icon 2. Select “Class” tab3. Edit “Class/Subject Name”

To print students progress report sheet:1. Click the “Print” icon 2. Select “Student Progress” from the “Records” pull down menu3. Select students from the “List” tab4. Select what you want to print on the report from the “Options”

tab

To copy assignments, options and students between classes and terms use the “Copy Class Data” icon

To combine grades from both semesters for the year final gradeChoose “Tool” – “Term Tools” – “Combine Terms”
