“Lutheran Perspectives on Vocation and Economics”

Gene Veith (Patrick Henry College)

October 4th, 6pm Creighton University, Harper Center 3023

Dr. Gene Edward Veith was until recent retirement Provost and Professor of Literature at Patrick Henry College. Dr. Veith is the author of 20 books on topics involving Christianity and culture, classical education, literature, and the arts, and including books on Christian God at Work: Your Christian Vocation in All of Life.

He just published his latest book, Working for Our Neighbor: A Lutheran Primer on Vocation, Economics, and Ordinary Life. He will discuss some of the ideas of this book in his lecture. It should be of interest to all to hear about a uniquely Lutheran conception of vocation, and how Christians might conceive of everyday work as a means of worship to God.

All are welcome to attend this and all public lectures in the Business, Faith, and Common Good Lecture Series. No RSVP is necessary. Any questions can be directed to Andy Gustafson, Associate Professor of Business Ethics and Society in the Heider College of Business ([email protected])
