By: Hunter Freeman

My Journey To Texas

• Came from Ohio in a covered wagon.

• Was a long hard trip.

• I reached Louisiana and then sailed to the Gulf.

• Then hitched a ride to San Felipe.

My Arrival

• By the time me and my family arrived it was cold.

• After the cost of the boat ride we had $1000.

• We owned 1840 acres of land with a creek running through the land.

1822

• Paid my first yearly payment of $73.6 .

• Spent $200 on cattle and cotton.

• Spent $300 on lumber

• Had a good year!

1822

• Made a profit of $1,526.6 !

• Had enough money for the next year.

• Lumber did the best because it was a cold winter and people demanded for lumber.

1823

• Paid second payment of $73.6 .

• Had $1,452.8 after paying my land payment!

• Spent $100 on crops and lumber and spent $800 on cattle

1823

• There was a problem with Texas and Mexico with cotton so it did not do good.

• Lumber wasn't in need so much any more.

• And cattle did great and sold for good money .

1824

• Paid my last land payment of $73.6 .

• Started with$2,029.2 .

• I put$1,529 on cotton.

• Also I put $150 on cattle and lumber.

1824

• Made a good profit of $5,187 .

• Me and my family were doing great and the boy were having fun farming!

• A new bumper crop was produced!

My Town

• My town I stayed in was San Felipe.

• It was in Texas.

• It thrived and was by a river!

My Conclusion

• Over all I did good I am staying here me and my family!

• Made a good load of money.

• I am glad that I qualified for the land and my family was to!
