Freefincal Mutual Fund Screener-Google Sheets Edition

Getting Started Guide

1. Download screener files (zipped) from freefincal2. Extract the .xlsx file, upload to Google Drive and open via Google Sheets3. You will see this main page.4. Enter Value Research online user name and password as shown below

Go to tools and choose script editor

1. Such a window will open. Delete the 3 lines of code seen above2. Open Code.gs in notepad select all copy paste here

Save the code. Any name is fine

Click Run onOpen

Click continue

You will see this authorization window allow wait until execution is overPrivacy of rest of your G drive files will not be affected in any way.Once the script executes, go back to the spreadsheet

You should see a new menu item CSV report.Click Get Data AFTER VR user name and password is entered

Now go back to the Google sheet tab. You should see this status report and Hopefully it should not give any error.

You should now be able to see returns data in the annual returns sheet

Go to screener sheet and scroll to the right end of the sheet.

Select the filter button on the top of each column and choose ‘filter by condition’ Greater than - enter a valueThe above screen is for how consistently the fund has been in the top 15 wrt1Y, 2Y, 3Y, ….12Y CAGR. Watch the video for more details
