Simon Ziff serves as president of Ackman-Ziff, a position he assumed in 1995. Since joining the firm as an analyst in 1989, Simon personally has arranged over $20 billion of debt, mezzanine and equity financings for some of the nation’s foremost real estate developers and owners while solidifying the firm’s relationships with key capital sources. Simon has engineered the firm’s collaborative culture which functions as a magnet for financial talent. He has directed its evolution as an industry thought-leader with over 30 professionals on the team.

Simon received a B.S. in Finance from Pennsylvania State University, and an M.S. in Real Estate Finance from New York University. New York University awarded Simon its distinguished Real Estate Alumni Recognition Award. He has also been recognized on multiple occasions by the Real Estate Board of New York, including six times as the recipient of its “Most Ingenious Deal of the Year” award and was twice named a member of the Real Estate Board of New York’s commercial board of directors, which oversees the commercial brokerage division for REBNY. REBNY has also recently awarded Simon the prestigious honor of the 2011 Louis Smadbeck Award for lifetime achievement. He is active on leadership roles at U.L.L, ICSC, and other industry organizations. In addition Simon is also active in leadership of many not-for-profit organizations.

David D. Clark serves Northwestern Mutual in the executive officer position of senior vice president-real estate. He is responsible for Northwestern Mutual’s investments in mortgage loans and real estate. He is a member of the Investment Committee.

Previously, Clark was a managing director of Northwestern Investment Management Company, Northwestern Mutual’s investment subsidiary. His responsibilities include analysis of portfolio performance, underwriting and closing new investments, investment valuation, and risk management.

Clark joined Northwestern Mutual in 1979. He moved to Seattle in 1984, as regional director, where he headed the company’s real estate production office. He rejoined the home office in 1995 as a director of mortgage loan production in the East. In 2001, he was appointed managing director of real estate services.

He holds two degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received a B.B.A. degree in finance in 1974 and an M.S. degree in real estate in 1975. He is active in ULI, including the capital markets advisory board and policy and practice committee and NAREIM.

Glenn Grimaldi, is an Executive Vice President and head of national loan production for Commercial Real Estate Finance, HSBC Bank, USA, NA.

Glenn has 24 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate Finance. He manages a portfolio of $16 billion in commercial mortgages and as head of mortgage originations helps set strategy on the financing of apartment buildings, commercial office buildings, retail centers and other mixed use properties. Product offerings include, fixed rate permanent loans, construction financing, lines of credit, bridge financing and acquisition financing. In addition, through the DUS and Program Plus programs, Glenn also overseas the sale of loans to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae (the nation’s largest purchasers of multifamily mortgages). HSBC Commercial Real Estate, has offices in New York, Boston, Washington, DC, Miami, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

HSBC is one of the world’s largest and most well capitalized financial institutions with offices in over 80 countries.

Kevin Pivnick is Head of Conduit Loan Origination within Deutsche Bank’s Commercial Real Estate Group, based in New York. Kevin’s group focuses on the origination of CMBS loans nationwide. Kevin was previously based in London, where he helped develop and run Deutsche Bank’s European Conduit platform, which focused on originating and securitizing CMBS loans on property located throughout Europe. During this period Kevin also established and managed Deutsche Bank’s Commercial Real Estate financing group in Frankfurt. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Kevin worked in commercial real estate loan origination at Credit Suisse and RBS Greenwich Capital. Kevin received a BA from Dartmouth College.
