Container-Quick-Tie®

O r i g i n a l i s b e s t

Features:No structural modification required of anyexisting containers, handling systems of meansof transportation.

harmonization of the variety of container types

optimized utilization of the 20 ft containers

full exploitation of the invested capital

with the aid of the coupling device,it is possible to carry two 20 ft containers as one 40 ft stowage spaces

minimization of empty container transport

the coupling device may be used for both empty and loaded containers (up to 30.480 kg)

quick container loading und unloading whileconnected, since accessible from two sides

This is a coupling device for a rigid andforce-locking connection of two 20 ft ISOcontainers of identical overall height inlongitudinal direction, such as to formone 40 ft container unit. The couplingdevice is not an integral part of thecontainer but may be carried in a storagecompartment in the bottom of thecontainer.

Little investment results in great benefit

For each 20 ft container, only twocoupling devices are required to establisha rigid and force-locking connection. Dueto the different ISO openings of the CornerCastings on the front side of eachcontainer, the couplings are classified asone upper and one lower coupling.

Upon correct completition of the coupling process the safety bolt (8) of the top devices shows to the bottom - and the safety bolt of the bottom devices shows to the top.

Threads and bearings have to be greased carefully!

10

Preparation and Fitting instructions1. Containers to be coupled are to be dropped on the coupling platform or on a flat

surface (front end to front end)

2. Prior to fitting remove both strechting hammers (5+6) from the threaded bar (4)

3. Affix Quick-Tie without stretching hammers with the magnets to the frontside of the respective corner casting.

IMPORTANT: Secure the top version by turning the stretching hammer with at least three turns to the threaded bar.

4. Move containers together and insert the stretching hammers (5+6) through the side aperture of the corner castings by using the fitting tool. (prior to that remove the stretching hammer out of the top version)

5. Turn the quick action piece (3) until both stretching hammers (5+6) are in a horizontal position and smooth affixed at the insides of the front corner castings.

Put in the safety bolt (8) in one of the openings (10) of the quick action piece (rigid connection)

LOADMAN for Bulk Carriers helps to create safe loading and unloading sequences. The ship’s stability and strength during the whole process, including ballast operations, are shown in a time frame. Creates a loading/unloading plan as required by IMO Resolution A.862 (20).

BALLASTMAN Ballast Water Exchange Man-agement manages the ballast water exchange in accordance with IMO Res. A.868 (20). It also creates the Ballast Water Reporting Form.

INEXMAN Automatic Stability Test System de-termines the current stability of a vessel accord-ing to GL and See-BG.The result is the current GM value.

SEALASH including Lashoptimization lashes containers properly. Forces are calculated according to GL, DNV, BV, ABS and LR. Generates various reports, e.g. inventory list; lash forces by bay, stack and tier.

CRANE OPERATION simulates the handling of on-board cranes. Helps to plan the loading/unloading of containers and heavy items, and then to safely execute the operation.

DASTYMAN Damage Stability Calculation cal-culates damage stability based on the hull form and inner structure of the ship. Approved by GL and DNV.

MACS3.net Basic ProgramThe stability and strength calculations, covering all pertinent international regulations. For all types of vessels: container, tanker, bulk carrier, general cargo, RoRo, passenger. Approved by all leading classification societies.

BELCO Container Management enhances the MACS3 loading computer with fast and easy container management features. Containers can be colored according to a variety of criteria, e.g. by port of discharge. The longitudinal section shows containers, tanks and visibility lines. A special check points out all critical conditions at one glance. You can even see a 3D visualization of your ship with all its cargo.

MIXCARGO for General Cargo manages all kinds of cargo: containers, trailers, single parts and homogeneous surface cargo. Allows polygon-shaped cargo areas. Loading is done interac-tively. Items can easily be rearranged with the mouse.

STOWMAN for Terminal and Shipping Lines provides the import and export of ASCII-files, e.g. import from the booking computer or database. It also allows manual planning by dragging one or multiple containers from pier to a stowage plan.

Overview

Page 116: German Lashing Robert Boeck Full Catalogue

We have equipped more than 4,000 vessels world-wide with our MACS3 loading computer and installed a corresponding number of office systems at the shipping companies. Our hardware and software have been type approved and certified for on-board use by all major classification societies.

MIXCARGO enhances the MACS3 loading computer. It is a visual solution for managing all kinds of cargo: containers, trailers, single parts and homogeneous surface cargo.Loading is done interactively: You can draw the cargo area as a polygon, i.e. an irregular shape, or use standard types. Guiding lines appear automatically to help you properly align an item, or you can put it in any position and even rotate it freely. The cargo is shown both bay-wise and deck-wise, so you can easily rearrange it. Items can also be stowed on top of each other. On the other hand, accidentally loading containers in the same space with other cargo is prevented.
