Only hire “A players”
• Each new person you hire should be more talented than whoever you’ve already hired!
• This helps entrepreneurs build a continuously growing company
Look for potential future leaders
• Look to hire people with the potential to lead teams, as opposed to those who are just a great fit for the current position but lack enthusiasm or an ability to grow!
• You’ll create a flexible workforce and establish the groundwork for promoting from within
Don’t compromise on culture
• In this regard, “culture” means people with a set of values mirroring your company’s!
• People tend to respect and work well with those who share their values and achievements
Interview lots of candidates and move fast
• Interview a large number of candidates, then select who stands out among the white noise!
• When you find that person who stands out, move fast to grab them
Have a great training plan
• Have an effective on boarding plan in place for once you hire people!
• Clearly articulate the company’s values, challenges and culture!
