This article will give you 6 tips to increase battery life on a Kindle Fire and some of them can be also used on other devices too. You don’t need to master any professional technique, just do a few common settings and change usage habits.
1. Turn down brightness
The screen always consumes much battery. Turning down screen brightness can increase battery life effectively. Just go to “Settings” and choose “Display” – “Brightness”. Adjust the brightness as you like.
2. Turn off Wi-Fi or stay close to wireless router
Turn off the Wi-Fi when you don’t need any network connection. Once you’ve connected to Wi-Fi, stay close to the wireless router as the Kindle Fire can search wireless signal easily and the connection will be more stable.
3. Browse webpage in mobile view mode
Webpages with many image content make the Kindle Fire consume more battery to load the whole page. So you can view the webpage in mobile view mode. When you are surf the Internet with Amazon Silk browser, Navigate to “Settings” – “Advanced” – “Desktop or mobile view” and choose “Mobile: Optimize for mobile view”.
4. Do not play game or surf the Internet for a long time
Long time game playing or Internet surfing will make the Kindle Fire overheating and it can hurt the battery. Sometimes it can even cause serious damage. What’ worse is that your Kindle Fire may be very slow if it’s too hot!
5. Close trashy background process
There are always some processes running background but we don’t need them indeed. So it’s wise to close these trash processes to save battery. You can go to “Settings” – “Application”, choose from “Running applications” and close any processes you want.
6. Do not charge with inferior charger and USB cable
Inferior charger and USB cable can cause trouble to Kindle Fire. You can’t get your Kindle Fire fully charged and the battery may get aged early as the current from the inferior charger is not standard. You’d better used the original Amazon charger
