About Steve BlacknellSteves first move in his music career was to date Kate Bush. Credited with being The Man with the Child in his Eyes in the Daily Mail. His career started with promoting acts such as The Moody Blues, Leo Sayer, Jethro Tull and Don Williams. He was also instrumental in the success of Frankie Goes To Hollywood.
Steve famously interviewed Phil Collins on Concorde as he 'commuted' between the London and Philadelphia stages of Live Aid. He has also worked with Boy George, Blondie, Midge Ure, David Cassidy, Lemmy, Adam Ant et al.
Steve was a regular on the BBC Breakfast Time sofa with Frank 'Chocolate Tones' Bough and Selina 'Easy On The Eye' Scott! He is the author of The Story of Top Of The Pops.
