What is Crowdfunding?

• Crowdfunding is a method for obtaining project funding, by soliciting contributions

from a large group of people, and especially from an online community.

• There are three types of Crowdfunding:

Donation based

Equity based

Loan based

• Greek Laws and Crowdfunding:

There is no Law in Greece at the present moment that governs crowdfunding services.

The only law that oversees the tax implications and responsibilities which stem from a

Donation, was passed in 1931.

According to this law, the donation recipient (provided he is not an NGO or an NPO) is

obligated to pay a 40% tax on the net amount he receives as a donation.

What is Crowdfunding?

Created

JumpStart Greece’s founders belive that any hope that Greece may have to rise from the

financial crisis it is undergoing, will come from the rapid growth of SMEs.

We strongly believe that many talented, knowledgeable and gifted individuals, if given the

opportunity and the necessary financial backing, can make promising projects come to life in

Job Creation

Each project creator must

indicate how many new jobs his

project will create if funded.

New Jobs created will be

confirmed by the Project Creator

and/or his Supervisor

JumpStart Greece has introduced two major innovations in the crowd funding

industry innovations

It is the project creator’s choice to select if his project will or

will not be supervised.

A Project Supervision provides additional credibility to the

project.

Supervisors are usually university professors, lawyers,

accountants, doctors, professional artists, publishers and any

professional.

The Supervisor will monitor that the project created the number

of jobs it had planed and was executed according to the plan.

Were do Project Come From?

• All projects are unique in their own way.

• Projects evolve from the creative, innovative and communal need of people living in

Greece.

• A Project starts as an idea a project creator has, for which he strongly believes will

have an impact in the market or in Greek society.

• Project owners are usually entrepreneurs, techies, app developers, video game

developers, musicians, artists, writers, photographers, film makers, athletes, NPOs,

NGOs and companies with a creative idea they want to bring to life.

Who Are the Backers?

• Backers are publicly-spirited people that believe that if Greece is to recover from its

economic predicament, creative, innovative and community minded individuals,

companies and organization need to be given a chance to bring their ideas to life

and in the process create New Jobs in Greece.

• Backers that fund a project may be relatives, friends or local community members of

the project creator, as well as JumpStart Greece web page visitors in Greece or

anywhere in the world that were convinced by the project creator’s project

proposition and became fans and backers of the project.

• Backers are willing to offer a small financial contribution to projects in Greece, if they

are convinced that their contribution will have a direct positive effect in helping

the Greek people and the economy.
