The three main stages of production are: Pre-production: Planning, scripting &
storyboarding, etc. Production: The actual shooting Post-production: Everything between production and
creating the final master copy.Other stages include: Financing: This is before pre-production, and
involves budget forecasting, finding investors, etc. Screenplay: This can be considered a separate stage
before pre-production. Distribution: After post-production, delivering the
content to the audience (e.g. film prints, CD/DVD, etc).
The UK’s leading consumer magazine.
NME, Now, Nuts
More than 60 iconic media brands
IPC Media have created magazines in the same
genre as me and would be a perfect
institution for me to have my magazine in.
Reaches over nineteen million UK adults every week.
4 Music, Kiss, Mojo, Kerrang
Although Bauer Media make Kerrang, they are
not as experienced in indie-rock music like IPC
Media. This is why Bauer is not as good for my
magazine.
IPC know indie-rock music well. They have a good
idea of the target audience as they already have
the magazine NME. This would benefit my
distribution as it would mean they would know
exactly where to distribute my product. My product
is similar to NME but slightly different as it takes a
much more relaxed look and is not as complicated.
This is good as my target audience of teenagers
will find it more interesting if it is not too hard to
understand. The company has a good reputation
and this is important as people will only buy from
companies with a good reputation. My magazine is
quite niche. This is why it would work well with
IPC media as they know how to sell niche products.
My magazine could be advertised in many
ways.
Shop windows, posters, television adverts and leaflets.
This is very similar to how other magazines are
sold . If my magazine is sold the same way, it
is almost guaranteed to be seen and noticed
and then bought.
My product would be distributed in many ways.
Society is changing and everything is done
electronic. As well as it being sold in shops, I
would give customers the option to subscribe
online to get the magazine delivered, or to be
viewed online. This would be good for my
magazine as things are now done online which
means I would get more customers.
