What is called ‘MLM’?

Become the Knower and Doer of All That is Marketing

As the Boss, you need to work on closing deals. In this case, Network Marketing, closing a deal is converting a lead into an IBO (Independent Business Owner). All the hype calls and motivational speeches can take a back seat while you continue to collect information on the different marketing services and products that exist. I'm not saying that listening to a few inspirational words won't help you get that warm fuzzy feeling in your gut, I mean how much of that do you need to have? There's WORK to be done.

Did you know there are companies that can create professional-style promotional videos for chump change per month? How about getting calls from your leads answered by a professional order/message taker? Ever stumble upon free software similar to Photoshop? How about getting 1,000 drop cards or flyers for less than $100? NO? Well see, that's what I'm talking about. Put down that Wayne Dyer book, get online and search for tools you need to get the word out on your business opportunity. Learning which media or distribution method works takes time and practice. If you don't know what's out there, well hell...how is that motivational speech going to help?

You need to become a junkie on marketing, not the fuzziness you get after some feel-good speech that in so many words is telling you to get-off-your-ass. Knowing how to share your product or service with the rest of the world is, in part, the most critical piece of a successful operation. Given everything written, I will like to say that ignoring the element of building relationships with potential customers/partners will be disastrous to your business. Building those kinds of relationships is important too, but it all comes down to getting the word out to as many people as possible.

Be Honestly Helpful to Your Organization

In a perfect world every IBO will treat his/her business like a Sales Manager would treat a sales team-once he/she has establish some steady profit, they assist their team with expert support, resources, and leads. It's not always like this. You're the person on top! If you have to start somewhere with this characteristic...start with being a honest business owner. Too many times we've heard of downline steals (people 'stealing' leads) and resource hoarding. ENOUGH! I was with one MLM company and top producers finally revealed they purchased leads. Wow. All this time and I'm struggling inviting friends and family to these silly hype calls and the top producer is simply buying leads. Too funny!

You should also be honest with potential clients of the product or service you're marketing. If something you're promoting hasn't been tested, say that. If you don't know the answer to a question, say that. People can appreciate honesty, or at least I want to believe they do. There are however, no medals given to those who are honest. At the same time, you're rewarded the pleasure of never having to stutter and stammer over words when you lie! Trust me...both the stutter and stammer aren't good for business.

The people in your organization deserve to be informed and should never be able to say that they haven't had the support they require to grow their business. If you haven't thought about how you're going to assist hundreds, even thousands of IBO's you need to think about it right now. What
