From the Album Blood Sugar, Sex, Magik we have Suck my kiss (top image) and Give it away (bottom image). The similarities between the album artwork and the videos here is that it features the band, its does on the album and they are featured a lot in their videos. Also the use of colour is very basic, just black and white, which I think perfectly sum up the rock/punk genre.

From the Album By the way we have the zephyr song (top image) and Can’t stop (bottom image). The big change from the previous slide is a rapid increase in colour, but there is not really a scheme its just full of colour. The similarity between the album art and videos here is the whole sense of randomness because all the products are very abstract.

If I had to sum up the overall style of the band I would say that they are very casual and laid back. You can’t really determine a brand image because as we’ve seen there style can differ but again it would be along the lines of careless as they wear what the want when they want, do what they want when they want and perform just the same way. This I think sums up the rock/punk genre because its not too serious.

Even though their products have changed we could still tell their work was theirs because its so unique. They do use a lot of black, white and red which links in to their logo but their more recent products have contained more colour. Clothing wise they are very laid back, usually quite casual like t-shirt and jeans but sometimes barely anything. The setting for their videos is usually somewhere big in America like California because California has a lot of rock history plus the band is American. Their songs are unique and abstract lyrically but some are about everyday things, feelings, women etc.

I think the band chose this image because it is quite open, not too specific which means more people are bound to like them. By using a brand image people get to know and like the band by seeing who they really are.

I think the band have kept their image all this time because its what their fans know and love and if they changed they would lose them.
