AIESEC Experience

Over the years the world has experienced a lot of events that are far from ideal or perfect world every single person we dream, these events are just as many different challenges that humanity must face , and the world is always in need of new things and people who are willing to give the best of them to make a difference for future generations . During my two years of experience within AIESEC, I have ratified what we envision is possible when in one place thousands of people from different backgrounds (region, race, age) all in search line to find a country and a world better; our vision is possible when thousands of young people around the world set aside their free time, spend time with loved ones or just have an average life of a young person to leave their comfort zone, think of others, do something different every day, for an organization that despite having 65 years since its founding is still not relevant enough to solve all the haste that overwhelm the world today, but what if it is clear that through these initiatives that finally are great actions and are joined by a purpose can be achieved a solution: Leadership.

MOTIVATION FOR THE ROLE

Description of myself:

“Life isn’t about avoiding risks, it’s about making calculations & going all in with the

things you love”

Commitment and persistence

Change acceptance

Comply with the obligations that I have proposed or I've been assigned, it is a factor that preceded my actions. For me is important to live the day to day based on your responsibilities.

Not everything that we plan is of the manner and at the time that we expect. Constantly, we must make an assessment of our plans and modify the aspects that are not following our purpose. The most important thing of this, is the identification of problems or factors that prompted these changes, learn of the mistake and don`t go around on problems, but focus on the solutions.

MC VP TM Regional Director It is the possibility to work to generate and consolidate strategies for the largest and most important resource that our organization has, members. When I think of TM within @ is a great opportunity to fulfill the promise of development and value we give thousands of young people to join the organization. Contribute to each experience of each member is sufficiently unique, shocking, developer, education, quality is the secret to AIESEC has the ideal people to start changing realities

Why

As Regional Director come into direct contact with the strengthening of a whole entity, not from a specific area, but from the LD corner A great opportunity to address the growth of the entities with a perfect implementation of national strategies.

Empathy, Interpersonal Relations and assertive Communication You need to have the ability to build a strong relationship with an entire national network to reach them with the message and the indicated way; where they can be confident that they have a leader from the national office for the proper implementation of the strategies.

Skills

Time Management: Having the ability to organize and make a structured timelines for implementation of each strategy planning is the ability to deliver knowledge and act at the right time to receive the expected results

Ability to teach:One of my passions is helping people to evolve into knowledge, I have the ability to convey ideas creatively and easily, because the best way to learn is to teach.

Value Competency Striving for excellence: if your purpose is to grow something, increase its reach, take it to another level, not only should always give your best, but exceed your capacity limits. If from the national office does not always give more than they can give, they cannot ask a national network that are getting better, generating innovative and efficient processes, every LC must see MC as a great example of not settling for doing things right, but doing the best among the best.

Proactive learning: Currently our organization has well established processes and standards, however there are some that need improvement and others who need to be redesigned and adapt it to the realities. From the national role have to be in a constant search for new knowledge to innovate in processes, attract better implementation and to ensure that over time evolve the way how we are delivering our impact.

Academic background

As an international negotiator I have a strategic and forward the role where I play, find it outside the organization where I can take advantage of opportunities to improve our system. I have knowledge of administration that are very useful for working in an organization that operates as a company, with specific charges, goals and established that not only is handled by the national office but we have 30 mini offices where as a leaders, we must help them to manage their resources of time, people, physical and financial resources more efficiently.

LCVP TM 2013: As a VP I had a big challenge to continue with excellent legacy they had left before me. In NPM 2013, talent management in @EAFIT was recognized as the area with the best performance for this year due to excellent results in implementation of national strategies, standardization of processes, synergies to support operations and consolidation cycles of education appropriate to the different areas of the LC Further the implementation of the program Nomada locally to support the professionalization of coaching and media areas

General Questionnaire: 1 What plan do you propose to sell 500 GIP TNs in one year? Which sector and segments would you choose to sell, and based on this, with which local entities would you work?

by zone Plan

1. Focusing first on a rigorous research and market analysis to have a real understanding of the market dynamics, strengths and weaknesses of each region so they can penetrate better and professionally each sector.

2. Based on the joints of each zone, its necessary a product development strategy as the main opportunities and growth sectors. Thus the LCs would not have to expect from the national office to develop new products to sell out to the various emerging sectors

3.From the national office or from each area should create alliances with companies specializing in sales coaching (http://co.linkedin.com/in/empiriacoaching) where we can unify the national discourse, have professionals SDP cycles, structuring the sales process for each LC, a standardized and rigorous tracking and redesign the system of R & R based on performance fees and achieved sales (awards outside AIESEC, (eg Attending the national seminar marketing, or national youth leaders meeting, etc).

4. The entities of AIESEC in Colombia lack strategies to consolidate long-term customer relationship to give credibility and relevance to our products within each

What is missing currently to have WINNING TOGETHER culture? How do you think we can encourage this culture and have real results from it?

During national events always the network receive collaboration sessions to grow together, however these initiatives are not transformed into action for lack of leadership to monitor the implementation of the strategies.

Continuity strategies: Through proper recognition system can begin to shape behavior not only within individuals, but also of a whole entity united by a common goal. Example: *Recognition to a better “LC Padrino” to support your extension entity to reach another level within the organization. *Recognition to the LC to better develop an initiative for the growth of an entire zone. *For the entity that best share your GCPs and support to implementing it.

R & R system for collaborative entities: This should become one of the TOP products within different areas of the country. It is the opportunity to generate a direct impact between committees and that together they can make an exchange of knowledge based on the strengths and improvement points for each entity. (The LCs should not wait for this initiative from national office)

Nomads Program:

0 individualism Sense of urgency Collective learning methodologies Sense of service.

New behaviors of the entities

Propose 5 big milestones that NEED to happen in the following 2 years (2014 and 2015) in order to reach 2015 goal

Strategic alliances for each zone guilds and chambers of commerce that can give volume to incoming programs (ANDI - ANLDEX-FENALCO-Colombo-brazilian commerce chamber Colomb0china commerce and integration chamber)

Alliances with other youth organizations to develop projects together and reach new young with a similar leadership mindset. (RECOJO- Colombia Joven- Káiros)

Events for specialized areas, for all roles (VPs-TLPs-OCs-TMPs) to shorten learning curves.

Develop projects to participate in the delivery of government funds to finance new initiatives with low-income people, incoming and outgoing projects

Currently, there are different ways by which we can find information that is sometimes confusing which is the appropriate channel for each type. we have to capitalize one for generating a culture of professional information management.
