These are some of the CD Covers that I produced, they are made on the software Photoshop and have been put together on a powerpoint to show you my ideas of

what I’d come up with for my CD Cover.

Page 2: Possible Cd Cover Photos

Here is the first Cover that I designed, it is identical to the one that I’ve researched in my Album Cover – Research this shows that although it is copyrighted I have a creative eye. Unfortunately this will be copyrighted if I was to use this CD Cover and as we are not allowed to copyright anything I am unable to use this. Which is why I made a new CD Cover that is similar to this but a bit different.

CD Cover 1

Page 3: Possible Cd Cover Photos

Here is the re-invented cover of the first cover I made, this is to show my own idea and a creative way to show a unique CD Cover. Unfortunately this didn’t go as well as I’d planned but was still able to show the idea that I was trying to portray, this however isn’t the cover I decided to use.

CD Cover 1 Redone – Mirror + Previous Image

Page 4: Possible Cd Cover Photos

Here is the second so called CD Cover, this was made out of an image that I’d taken one night when it started to snow, this snows the light of the camera and also the snow falling down from the sky. I have made it slated for a reason to create a different style allowing me to use another colour of the main background this being grey, as it can reflect the image itself. Also has I’d made a list of possible album cover titles I have made the same cover with a new title to see which looks better.

CD Cover 2 (01) – That’s My Life

The reason why I decided to change the title from That’s My Life to It’s Hard Living This Way was plainly because, That’s My Life sounded a little like This Is Your Life and also didn’t really fit in with the songs too well. Also the title didn’t really fit in with the album cover itself.

Page 5: Possible Cd Cover Photos

As you can see this is the same cover except the name has changed from That’s My Life ((reason I chose this name was because the songs that will be featured on the cover are all about life and what happens in life)) too It’s Hard Living This Way ((reason I chose this name was because some of the songs talk about loving someone and being dumped or dismissed so it relates to the fact of it being hard to living the life of being rejected over and over again.

CD Cover 2 (02) – It’s Hard Living This Way

The reason why I decided to change the title from It’s Hard Living This Way to Simple Living was plainly because, It’s Hard Living This Way didn’t seem to go well with the cover and also didn’t seem the correct title to use of the CD Cover.

Page 6: Possible Cd Cover Photos

Again the same cover with the changed title, instead of being called It’s Hard Living This Way I’ve now called it Simple Living ((reason I chose this was to be an opposite to what the songs are displaying to the audience as things aren’t simple but having a title of the opposite can also attract people)).

CD Cover 2 (03) – Simple Living

The reason why I decided to change the title from Simple Living to The Closer It Gets The Harder It Becomes was plainly because, Simple Living although having the opposite meaning in terms of songs it didn’t flow with the songs that well and in the end I thought it would affect the launch of the CD Cover.

Page 7: Possible Cd Cover Photos

The next is again the same but title has been changed from a short Simple Living to a long title of The Closer It Gets The Harder It Becomes ((reason for this change is because this title however being rather long helps to tell a story in a way from the songs that will be featured)).

CD Cover 2 (04) – The Closer It Gets The Harder It Becomes

The reason why I decided to change the title from The Closer It Gets The Harder It Becomes to Hard Life was because the title although it was good it also was too long for the CD Cover and caused a long worded Cover.

Page 8: Possible Cd Cover Photos

I’ve decided to change the title from The Closer It Gets The Harder It Becomes to just Hard Life ((reason for this change is mainly because the title was too long as it was and also the title hard life allows you to think about what might have happened to cause the cover to have such a strong name)).

CD Cover 2 (05) – Hard Life

The reason why I decided to change the title from Hard Life to Living The Hard Life because Hard Life was too short for the cover and Living The Hard Life sounds a lot better than just plainly Hard Life as the longer title explains a bit more to the cover.

Page 9: Possible Cd Cover Photos

Living The Hard Life is what I changed the title of the CD Cover too as I believe Hard Life was the correct title, ((reason why I changed it to Living The Hard Life was because it was more of an interaction with the songs saying Living The Hard Life than just plainly Hard Life)).

CD Cover 2 (06) – Living The Hard Life

The reason why I decided to change the title Living The Hard Life to Destruction Of Life because Living The Hard Life didn’t seem to fit in with the Indie style that I am aiming to portray to the audience.

Page 10: Possible Cd Cover Photos

From the title Living The Hard Life I changed the title again to Destruction Of Life ((reason for this was because after thinking about the songs and trying to interact them with the music genre and actual cover. Unfortunately the name didn’t suit the cover and the genre very well meaning that the title wasn’t correct to be finalised)).

CD Cover 2 (07) - Destruction Of Life

The reason why I decided to change the title Destruction Of Life to Now Never Seems To Come because the title Destruction Of Life didn’t seem to fit in with the Indie style that I am aiming to portray to the audience it was more of a portrait of the rock genre which is the complete opposite of what I’m aiming for.

Page 11: Possible Cd Cover Photos

Again the title was dismissed of Destruction Of Life ((reason for this was because the title wasn’t correct for the genre of Indie and came across more of a rock/heavy metal genre which wasn’t the genre that was trying to be portrayed)) and then arranged the title to be Now Never Seem To Come ((reason for this was because it sounded better than the previous title)).

CD Cover 2 (08) – Now Never Seems To Come

The reason why I decided to change the title Now Never Seems To Come to Never Seems To Stay because the title didn’t seem very clear and the wording of ‘now’. This showed not much thought had been put into the title and I didn’t want this to have an effect on the sale of the Cover.

Page 12: Possible Cd Cover Photos

The title Never Seems To Come was changed to Never Seems To Stay ((reason for this was because Never Seems To Stay sounds better than Never Seems To Come, as most songs when listened to are on about emotion, it shows different emotions never seem to stay long enough for something to occur)).

CD Cover 2 (09) – Never Seems To Stay

The reason why I decided to change the title Never Seems To Stay to Life Goes Too Fast because again Never Seems To Stay doesn’t tell you what Never Seems To Stay which is confusing because it could be anything to do with the songs or the band etc.

Page 13: Possible Cd Cover Photos

Here the title has been changed from Never Seems To Stay to Life Goes Too Fast ((reason for doing this was plainly because it wasn’t clear enough on what never seems to stay and also when I asked for the opinion of the public they had to ask what I meant which is what I wanted the CD Cover to portray)).

CD Cover 2 (10) – Life Goes Too Fast

The reason why I decided to change the title Life Goes Too Fast to Just Gotta Hold It Together because Life Goes Too Fast seemed to make me think of Nickelback’s album All The Right Reasons, as this features a car driving at speed on a long stretch of road. I believed that this wouldn’t go well with both the songs and genre I’m aiming for.

Page 14: Possible Cd Cover Photos

Here I changed the name Life Goes Too Fast to Just Gotta Hold It Together ((reason why it was changed to Just Gotta Hold It Together was because when you listen to the songs, particular with ‘More Than This’ you can see that the person the band are talking to need to hold it together to get through the tough time their having at the moment)).

CD Cover 2 (11) – Just Gotta Hold It Together

The reason why I decided to change the title Just Gotta Hold It Together to Watching Life Burn Out was because I didn’t like the long title and it didn’t seem right with the CD Cover itself.

Page 15: Possible Cd Cover Photos

The title Just Gotta Hold It Together was changed to Watching Life Burn Out ((reason for doing this change was plainly because I liked the sound of this title and also going along with the song ‘More Than This’ it’s like watching your life burn out, burning away from beneath you)).

Information!

The next two CD Covers are ones I did to complete a powerpoint I did but I believe they look really good so I’m going to add them to this powerpoint of possible CD Covers.

Page 30: Possible Cd Cover Photos

Here is the CD Cover I made just to add into another powerpoint as you can see it has a different shade of lighting from the front of the CD Cover where the text is, the lighting is rather light and seems to have a warm feeling but as our eyes are drawn backwards the light slowly disappears and we are left with darkness. I believe this is a really good idea for a CD Cover.

Here is another CD Cover I made which was also just going to be added into the same powerpoint, but as you can see it is unique in the photo that I’ve taken myself and the way it has been used to create a CD Cover background, you can see it is rather basic but does show a lot of potential in the sense of uniqueness.

Thank You For Watching!

You can now see the different photos that I’ve taken to see which is best for my album cover; the band New York Summer. Out of the photos I have been able to

create a number of CD Covers to analyse which one I think is best and the one which has more of a Indie genre.
