• Infant 3,4 years old: recycling workshop, learn the names of the objects that we put in the rubbish, we classify them in the following groups: paper, plastic and aluminium. We classify the bins by these colours blue, yellow and green.

Vocabulary: detergent bottle, cup of yogurt, plastic, plastic bottle, tin, can, newspaper, milk carton, juice carton, magazine, wrapping paper, fruit and vegetables, aluminium, glass jar and rubbish bag.

We work in a circle, the objects are brought into the classroom in a plastic bag. We take them out one by one and repeat the names. Then we classify them by the materials. Next we show the colours of the containers and establish the type of material that goes in each one. We put the classified the objects into the containers. We repeat the sequence with each pupil choosing an object and putting it in the right container.

Infant 5 years old: We work with the colours of the earth and think over ways to save our planet. Finally we made a display in the hallway with the summary of our works. We were inspired by an article in Teachers Magazine n. 49.

• Song: Countryside Calypso. Recording of the song played on the radio. Rehearsed and worked with all groups. With the music teachers collaboration.

• First and second cycles of Primary ended these activities about the colours of the earth, by caring for our planet and “The light bulb watcher”.

• Rehearsals during the week to perform the play during the month of May for the pupils of 4th A and B.

• Fill out the worksheets to learn the vocabulary and structures of the theme. Recycling, Recycling Story, Super recyclers advice. Materials published in Teachers Magazine n. 49.

• The sequence of the activities was the presentation of the worksheet, collective and individual works, review of the vocabulary and finally the filling out of the worksheets.

• With the sixth level of Primary Education we made a display of the five “Rs” to hang up the hallway. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, React and Respect.

From the “Hermanos Arregui Primary School” of Pola de Siero, Carmen, the teacher of science, sent us some

photos of their works and their displays which were hung up in their school.and. These were the results of

our caring about the situation of the environment.Thanks friends.
