MRF, is a major tyre manufacturing company located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. RF is mainly involved in making vehicle tyres. It is India's largest tyre manufacturing company, and among the dozen largest worldwide. It exports to more than 65 countries.

Dr G Shankar of G Shankar Family Trust has been conferred the prestigious ‘Nadoja’ award by Hampi University for his dedication, enterprise and meritorious service to society.

Was instrumental in increasing the diesel subsidy from Government of India from Rs.1 crore per year to Rs. 7 crore, thus saving mechanized fishing from total destruction due to severe hike in fuel charges.
