A PTO drive shaft is a method of transferring power from the engine and PTO to the onboard accessory equipment. The PTO drive shaft is used when there is not enough space next to the engine for additional accessories; the PTO shaft bridges the gap between the engine PTO and the accessories, allowing the accessories to be mounted elsewhere on the vehicle.
